Some of our earliest holiday memories are those from family cruises; waking up to a new view each morning, the smell of the sea breeze, the way the sunset reflects off the ocean – these might sound like simplistic notions, but its the emotional attachment we develop from cruising that keeps us setting sail time and time again.
No family holiday would be complete without fun, laughter and whole lot of ice cream! With new, bigger, bolder ships launching each year, there’s no short supply of whirlwind adventures onboard for everyone. When it comes to planning any family holiday, there’s a lot to think about. This is why you can trust our cruise experts to do the hard work for you. For larger families or those who prefer a little more space, interconnecting staterooms or a suite may be the solution. You may prefer to sail the Mediterranean or stay close to home initially with a roundtrip sailing from Southampton, or opt to fly further afield with a cruise around the crystal-clear Caribbean waters.
Each year we set sail on different cruise lines, as well as trying the newest ships in the world so that we can share the latest information with you. MSC Euribia, the newest ship from MSC Cruises will be sailing roundtrip from Southampton during the Winter 23/24 season. Disney Wish is currently sailing year-round out of Port Canaveral to Disney Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas. Whereas the newest ship from Royal Caribbean, Icon Of The Seas, is launching in January 2024, offering 7 night cruises to the Eastern & Western Caribbean on what is (for now,) set to be ‘The Biggest Ship In The World’.

Whilst it would be easy for us to recommend the latest offer, that’s not how we roll, or sail. Sure, as each year passes more cruise lines release newer, bigger, bolder ships to the water (more about that later) – they’re incredible impressive, both as a feat of engineering and a family adventure. When it comes to cruising, we know what we’re talking about. Why? Because we go and experience them first hand.
As the Disney Wish set sail in Summer 2022, we were honoured to be on her final inaugural sailing by invitation only, strengthening our relationship with Disney Cruise Lines and the wider family. Stepping onboard really does transport you to a magical destination like no other – you can’t help but enjoy the feeling of being a ‘big kid’. Not only is the Disney Wish beautiful everywhere you look, but she’s been designed with families and couples in mind; yes, there are character meet-and-greets and kids clubs galore, but there’s also one of the largest spas at sea and an adults-only Michelin-quality taster menu.
In 2022, we also got to preview (at the time) Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Wonder of the Seas before she set sail from Barcelona. Spending 48 hours on this megaship was eye-opening but truly does help us understanding the scale, feel, layout & design so that you don’t feel overwhelmed. A cruise line growing increasingly popular with the UK market is MSC with their modern ships and attractive all-inclusive pricing, which is why we also sailed onboard the MSC Virtuosa. Naturally we had to try Yacht Club – their suite category with private restaurant, sundeck, lounge, butler and perks throughout your voyage.
