our story
Family holidays were a huge part of our childhoods. From camping around the UK to short breaks across Europe; even Caribbean cruises, Kenyan safaris & adventures to Australia – we were all exposed to the world at a young age. Without realising, that lit a spark which made us want to explore further and experience more of what the world has to offer.
In 2012, Ross & Sarah-Lou met whilst working for Azamara Cruises – a boutique, luxury line offering destination-immersive itineraries around the world – where they were privileged to wake up to a new view each morning; the number of destinations visited is rather staggering, encompassing all 7 continents. A friendship was born out of a love for travel. After a number of years at sea, it was time for a change.
Whilst working in the theatre industry, Ross moved to New York, continuing to work as a freelance musician on productions of Mamma Mia, Cats & Evita across the UK & Internationally. Since 2019, projects have included tours affiliated with Strictly Come Dancing, concerts with and orchestra-to-film performances of Titanic, Encanto, Game of Thrones, Toy Story, Love Actually Hocus Pocus and more.
Sea-legs were swapped for wings, as Sarah-Lou became worldwide cabin crew for British Airways, flying First Class as far as Sydney, Bangkok & Rio. Finally, in 2017, she put her feet on the ground and began her next chapter as a Travel Expert for Trailfinders, planning a variety of once in a lifetime holidays and adventures to all four corners of the world.
It’s often said that ‘the world works in mysterious ways – in autumn 2023, the pair met Alice at a travel industry event and the rest is history. Having travelled lots growing up, backpacked across Asia and and worked abroad in entertainment roles, an instant connection was felt between the three and soon later, Alice joined the Travlux team.
All of these experiences have led us to today, where we’re able to plan your adventures for you with our world of knowledge and the care and attention to detail you deserve. We want you to explore new destinations and revisit favourites; we believe that travelling is the best way for us to continue to learn and share with you the world of possibilities that are out there. That’s why you’ll often find us at 36,000ft, in luxury resorts or villas, sailing the high seas or searching for private islands.
