Most will have heard of Dalaman & Antalya, but for many, Kalkan is a new destination and yet it’s one of our absolute favourites in Europe. This lesser-known gem on the Southern coast is as idyllic as it looks, with panoramic views across the bays, fantastic restaurants serving delicious food within the harbour town, excursions in the vicinity as & when you want, and plenty of time to sit back and relax, too.
About 2 hours drive from either Dalaman or Antalya – 2 airports which have many connections from the UK – it’s worth the drive to reach your destination. Whilst there are some hotels & resorts in the area, for our travel experts, it’s the luxury villas here which are stunning. Built on the hills in the surrounding bays, it’s hard to find a bad view. Your villa provides privacy to spend time with your family, friends & loved ones, without being disconnected from the region; trust us, you’ll want to eat local!

Things to do in KALKAN
Eat Local
Kalkan is filled with fantastic restaurants, which won't break the bank either. Sit with the sea breeze down by the harbour, or meander the narrow streets and opt for one of the rooftop terraces for the best sunset views. Sharing is definitely caring here, as you'll find a lot of small meze plates - good thing too, as there's usually too much choice on the menu!
Sail the coast on a boat trip
Whilst the harbour town is picturesque in itself, the coastline in the surrounding bays is stunning, with turquoise waters begging to be explored. Charter a boat for a half-day tour and set sail with your friends & family. These excursions often include bar service, a fresh seafood lunch (caught & cooked onboard!) as well as your own private Captain.

Beaches in the region
The beach in the harbour town is pretty & pebbled, but for those who want to feel the sand between their toes, just a short drive out of the town you can find Patara Beach - the longest beach in Turkey - boasting 11 miles of white, sandy shores. With a protection programme in place for loggerhead turtles, this area remains unspoilt, with just 1 cafe.
